Purpose

This media is used in food industry, for preparation of drinking water, in heating systems, as well as for softening water for boilers and steam generators, where a complete lack of hardness ions is required.

Description

A filter material represents ion-exchange resin (cationite) in the Na+ form, gel structure with styrene-divinyl benzene matrix and strongly acidic functional groups (sulpho-groups). It has a high level of chemical and osmotic stability. Owing to special production technology, it contains the minimum amount of mineral and organic impurities.

The equivalents are such cation exchange resins as KU-2-8, Amberlite IR 120, Purolite C 100, Lewatit C 249 / 267 / S100G1.

The requirements for raw water

No special requirements are made, but before treating with ion-exchange resins, the water should undergo mechanical cleaning from coarse particles.

Commissioning and operation

After loading Beta Soft into the tank, it should be washed with raw water in the amount of five volumes of resin (e.g. 25 l of resin is required for 0844 casing, consequently, the washing water volume should be 25*5 = 125 l). The regeneration is carried out with the sodium chloride solution and may be both direct-flow and back-flow.

Standard working conditions for direct-flow regeneration
