Purpose
MSFerox is the optimal solution for removal of iron, manganese and reduction of oil products, it is recommended to use it in both pressure and pressureless systems. For maximum efficiency, it is recommend to use MSFerox together with EcoFerox.
Description
MSFerox acts as an oxidation catalyst in the reaction of dissolved oxygen with iron (II) and (III) compounds, resulting in the formation of iron hydroxide(III), which is an insoluble compound easily removable by the back water flow. Hydrogen sulfide and manganese are also oxidized and precipitated in the layers of filter material, followed by removal by the back water flow. MSFerox does not require the use of reagents for regeneration.
MSFerox is a very strong material; its physicochemical properties meet the requirements of GOST R 51641-2000.
Main advantages
- during filtration reduces Colour up to 70-80%,
- reduces permanganate index to 20-25%,
- increases pH of the water to 2.5-3.0 units depending on the initial pH of the water, which ensures effective removal of manganese,
- works with all types of oxidizing agents: sodium hypochlorite, ozone, oxygen, etc.,
- pre-chlorination does not reduce the activity of the filter material,
- works in the presence of hydrogen sulfide,
- catalytically active components are uniformly distributed in the structure of the filter material granules, ensuring efficient operation even when the granule is damaged or split.
Analogs
It is a complete analogue of Sorbent MS.

Recommendations for use
Upon loading the filter, back washing should be performed.
Washing is recommended at least every 7 days (depending on the results of the raw water analysis).
Backwash time 6 - 10 min (depending on raw water quality)
The recommended height of the medium rise during backwash is at least 30% of the total load volume and not closer than 15 cm to the top of the tank.
MS FEROX is particularly effective in dual layer with Eco Ferox
The optimal practical application is mixing in a proportion corresponding to the water composition at the inlet.

For high-quality performance of the material, it is recommended to perform backwash at a rate of at least 50 m/h, regardless of the chosen proportion.
Service life of the medium is up to 5 years.
Commissioning and operation
Upon loading the filter, back washing should be performed
The formula for approximate calculation of the filtration cycle:
V = (0.9* VMF) / (2 * СMn + СFe) * 1000
V - filtration cycle, m3
VMF - MSFerox volume, l
СFe - iron concentration in raw water, mg/l
СMn -manganese concentration in raw water, mg/l
*The formula provides an approximate indication of the actual filtration cycle. The most optimal is the experimental selection of the period between regenerations and washing time, which enables using the water treatment system at minimal consumption of regenerate and washing water.
Washing is required at least once every 7 days.
Packing
MSFerox is packaged in convenient 10 L bags 12–12.5 kg, 76 bags per pallet.
